Wedding locations in the Netherlands: Havezate den Alerdinck

We visit many beautiful locations and I am happy to show you what your wedding can look like. In this blog I will introduce you to Havezate Den Alerdinck in Laag Zuthem (near Zwolle). Since my first wedding here on 12-12-2012 I’ve been a guest a few times every year to photograph a wedding. I think this is one of the most beautiful locations in the east of the Netherlands.

The special thing about this location is that you can organize everything around your wedding day here. The preparations, the wedding ceremony, an ecclesiastical blessing, a big dinner, reception or a nice party. It’s all possible here! Of course you and your guests can stay overnight on the estate at the end of the day.

Want to start the day relaxed? Book a room in the ‘Koningshuis’ and start preparing there. You can do the ‘first look’ with your partner on the platform, at the sundial or in the beautiful hall. And at the end of the day you get back into your bed here :-) Well organized I would say.

For the wedding ceremony you can go both indoors and outdoors. Getting married on the island is popular. Especially if you use the boat to sail from the ‘Koningshuis’ to the island. Personally, I think getting married at the sundial on the lawn is also very beautiful. Dream along: a hundred white chairs in the grass, beautiful live music, a carpet on which you make a grand entrance and all that on a sunny day.

On the forecourt there is room enough for a large reception and the cutting of the wedding cake. If the weather forecast is not so good, you can move everything to the Koetshuis or the ‘Koningshuis’.

The beautiful orchard can be your decor for long tables that are nicely laid out. It’s like a wedding in Italy, only closer to home. Well, you get it. We are fans of this location. Are you getting married here? We are happy to take care of the photo- and videography for you!
